Title: How to block a class 5 crossover switch
Post by: pbuffa@fcl.rr.com on June 08, 2011, 07:38:28 PM
I want to run the inner tracks with one power pack and the outer tracks with another power pack.  How do I block the switch so that the power of one power pack does not cross over and control the tracks designed for the other power pack?

are you using two seperate #5s together to form a crossover? assuming you are using ez track? if so, you'd need to an insulated rail joiner on one of the rails between the two #5s. if you are using the crossover where the two #5s are one unit you'll need to do some surgery. others more familiar with this can elaborate. there are internal connections on these crossovers which need to be severed in addition to gapping the rail.
