Title: Replacing dummy couplers on locos
Post by: choochoo on November 16, 2007, 03:03:25 PM
I recently attended a train show in Fullerton California and saw that two EK circus G locos had been changed to allow them to be coupled together.  I run long trains and have 5 of these locos.  They told me that the special couplers to allow this would be out in October of 2007. (They used couplers from another type of G Bachmann loco).  When will these couplers be available as parts?

Dear Choochoo,
I don't know which couplers they used, but as far as I know, no new version is on the way...
Have fun!

The problem with these (if they are, in fact, 4-6-0's) is that none are the same.
Not one of the ones I have modified has the coupler in the exact same spot.

I have started using Trackside Details pilots (cowcatchers) of brass, and modify the opening to allow a mount for the coupler (and height) of my choosing.
