Title: n-scale EM-1
Post by: Frank3 on October 22, 2013, 10:06:04 AM
Will the EM-1 operate on a DC  layout? Are any modifications required?

Dear Frank,
Yes, it will.  The decoders are dual mode, so they will operate on analog out of the box.
Have fun!

I just received an EM-1 with no instructions. I put power to it and it appears dead. I know it is a DCC setup, but I am totally unfamiliar with DCC. I want this loco to run on analog DC. What do I have to change to make it run? Is there a switch or jumper somewhere to change over?  ???

It will run on DC.  I run mine on DC, as I do not use DCC.  In fact, it runs very well on DC, the best yet of B-mann's DCC equipped power.

If it will not operate, I would contact Bachpersonn for warranty service.

Does anybody know where I can get an owners manual for this loco?

Send an e-Mail to B-mann's parts and service department.  Did you buy this new or used?  If you bought it new, how did you ever get one without an instruction sheet and warranty card?

While on the subject, ask Bachpersonn for a warranty card for this when you contact them.
