Title: Disassembling Prairie 2-6-2 (Need to replace smoke unit)
Post by: tintojim on February 20, 2016, 09:32:44 PM
I'm trying to get the Loco shell off so I can get to the smoke unit (I have the replacement, but need to get to the old one).  I've removed the two (2) screws located just above the cylinder assemblies (one on each side of the engine), and there do not appear to be any other screws holding the shell to the chassis.   From the exploded drawing it looks like the shell should just come off, but it isn't working and I don't want to break anything.  Is there something I'm missing, or do I need a bit more force?

Click Here  (https://youtu.be/OtW8Gx_WxL4?t=1m50s) to view a segment of a Bachmann video using an 0-6-0 locomotive  -- it has how to release the tabs you missed. Also examine - perhaps you only need to remove  the one screw on the 2-6-2 same as shown for the 0-6-0?

Thanks!  That was the trick I needed to find, and now it's back on the track and smoking.
