I have a dcc equipped consolidation. When I first run it, it runs smooth and quiet. After about 20 minutes of running forward, I'll put it in reverse and it will suddenly start making a grinding noise but only in reverse. Any ideas what causes this?

I'm curious if there is anyway to easily put a decoder in an old time 4-4-0. Any suggestions?

HO / "old time" bachmann 4-4-0

I have one of the Confederate 4-4-0 sets that Bachmann put out for the 150th anniversary. I would love to convert it to run on dcc with the rest of my layout but don't know if there is a way to without extensive "surgery" to the locomotive. Any ideas?

Ok well the locomotive is a spectrum 2-8-0. The dcc systems I am familiar with are the 8 pin plug type. I have worked with dcc before, but not with bachmann stuff.

Does anyone know if there is a way to easily convert a standard dcc steamer to have sound with it?
