If you wire the switch to the new transformer, the button on the switch control box will control the switch.
To get the DCC system to control the switch you will need something like this http://www.lenzusa.com/1newsite1/AccDecoders.html to control the switch. I think the instructions for wireing this up should be in the manual link on that page also.....Mike

If you have the older version of the 4-8-2 you will want a DZ125 or similar decoder to fit it. OK, I had to go back to see what you were building.  The Secenic Ridge layout should build into a nice running layout. Just stay with the shorter stuff and you will be fine.  ( Those 93/4 curves are sharp!)  Also look over the Spookshow site , he also built one of these layouts, and has a fairly extensive blog about it......Mike

With that loco I would probably stay with the 40' boxcars as the longest cars.  The Bachmann Silver Line of cars are good ( The single dome tank cars are great ) . And the Atlas line of cars are also real good. Try to get cars that have the Microtrains style of coupler, and they will all work with you're locomotive. What kind of track are you using ? ...Mike

I would just keep the set, as long as you like it. Sometime later you may have a different layout and be able to run the larger locomotive. I would also recommend  the Spectrum 2-8-0,  2-6-0 or the 4-6-0. as they are all very good locos, and should run on you're track with no problem.

This does happen sometimes, although I have never had the problem. One way to keep them on is to first put a little black paint into the groove, then slip the tire back on. This usually holds them on. Another thing, with locos that have tires , don't slide them on the rails when you re-rail then. Sometimes this will cause the tires to stretch.....Mike

You might try the Bachmann 2-10-2, mine pulls well. The newer heavy mountain 4-8-2 might be a good choice also. Here is a link to all you may want to know about just about every N scale loco ever produced....Mike

 I had the same problem, its not the track radius. Look at the wires between the loco and tender. One or more of them is going to need repositioned because they are a bit stiff. You're going to have to play around a bit to find out which ones will need moved . But when they are all in the right spots it will go around the Kato curves without any problems......Mike
