484 union pacific derails too frequently. Can I adjust the front and back carriage's and if so how do I go about doing so? :'(
Ahh yes, the ole 484 UP. Know it well...
Chief, you need to provide some futher details to have a hope of obtaining the help you seek. Such as: make and model of locomotive? Where and when the derailing occurs. The more details you provide the better.
Most derailments are due to poor trackwork, especially if the loco derails at the same spot(s) all the time. Another cause may be trying to run the engine too fast through curves that are too sharp. So more info, as requested by jbrock.
BTW, those are "trucks" not carriages. Carriages are when UK passengers ride in. :-)
Cheers
Roger.
A quick check would be to run your fingers along the track. My steam engines tend to have the front and rear trucks derail at certain points because the track wasn't connected right. You'll feel a bump if this is the case. The drivers will go right over it with ease most of the time. As for too tight of a radius, usually the drivers will derail (at least for me).
