Title: polarity of Percy
Post by: backyard on December 29, 2009, 03:13:05 PM
I just received the G scale Percy and placed it on the track with other G scale locos, when powered up it rus backwards to other locos. Can the polarity be reversed.

You will have to open him up and either switch the leads from the power pick ups or switch the leads to the motor. Don't ask why.

There has been a lot of discussion of this on My Large Scale.  If you paste the following link into your browser, you will find a discussion on the polarity and how to fix it to our "G gauge"Standard as opposed the NMRA standard he came wired for.

It is a very easy fix.

Not into Large Scale yet, but I had an HO engine at one time that did the same thing.  The problem was that the wires running from the pickups to the motor were put on the wrong way.  Just remove both wires from the pickups and put them on vice-versa.

Hope this helps. ;)

Thanks very much. I should have checked LSOL.
