HO / Re: Bachmann 4-8-4s Selling Like Hotcakes

I too just bought a 2005 Release DCC EQUIPPED Bachmann SPECTRUM item number 82121 HO Norfolk & Western Class J 4-8-4 Locomotive Version #610. from on eBay from the same guy "The Favorite Spot" for less than $60! He is great to deal with and the prices are great too! I am lucky as his place is about 45 min from the house. So I just go and pick the items up.  But that's bad too because I am too tempted to keep buying. And I do.

Anyway I am trying to figure out the required turn radius for it.  We are still building the railway.  Most of my railway is 18 degrees 44580 and the Main line is 22 degrees 44583. I am using the standard DCC switch 44130 and 44131 and also using the cross over DCC too.

I am curious about the prodigy system and doing reserch now but when you said that the Prodigy Advance system can program routes. If you set up a route do the switches change automatically?  Can the system then hault other trains to give way for that train.  I am curious andn on the site now.  it looks really cool.

My 5 yr old son and I are using the the EZ track and the DCC systems too.  I love the DCC switches!  As I understand the you can use  10 DCC engines on our DCC system by bachmann and 9 or 10 switches on it too!  I have had no problem with my new rolling stock but are having problems with my old stock de railing. an earlier post mentioned about filing the moving part of the switch. I am going to give it a try too. Though  using the DCC switching sometimes gets tricky as it take a moment to select #9 then the function button then the switch number.  So we may to completey go to DCC for all switches!  Have a good day.

HO / Re: EZ Track Gray or Black?

My son and I went with the Grey roadbed. We are currently building a 4x8 and we needed track.  We went on to Ebay and found some great deals!
I will put in a plug for the guy I like working with He has an Ebay store called "thefavoritespot"  His prices are very fair. We are building a DCC systmem so all of our switches and engines (that are DCC) will run off the DCC controller.  Let me know if you have any questions.
Have fun!
