Large / securing G scale structures outdoors
November 08, 2020, 11:51:07 AM
does anyone have suggestions for securing G scale structures outdoors, yet allow for easy removal for repairs or painting. The high winds we occasionally get here in Nevada raise heck with the scenic parts of the layout.

Does anyone have a set of gears for the G scale Rail Truck ? they come in a cast metal housing. Bachmann doesn't have them available anymore, or do you know any after market items that would work. Thank you

Large / G scale Rail truck
May 15, 2017, 02:08:36 PM
Can anyone help me identify the Q7 and Q8 type of transistors on the PC board of the rail track, they are   the two closest to the back of the board, mine got scorched, I think the numbers may be A1300 and GB201 but I'm not sure. I also ran into the oddest problem with the motor, the motor would not run unless it was turned upside down, a brush or spring problem? Anyway I replaced the motor and everything seemed to run well until I assembled the truck now it wont run on the track, the motor runs, but nothing else. Any advise? Thanks in advance.

Large / G scale three truck Shay
October 20, 2016, 01:59:49 PM
I am working on a G scale three truck Shay. I have power from the rails to the small circuit board mounted on the rear of the cab, no voltage to  any of the motors measured at the circuit board. the front light, rear light and the wee firebox light all work. running on straight power no DCC. Does anyone have any ideas or know where I can find an actual schematic not a line drawing of wiring connections ? any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't know if these three motors can run independently or all have to work together for the machine to run.
