Title: budget sound and DCC systems
Post by: Red26 on May 18, 2011, 02:23:29 PM
To date I have been buying the QSI sound & control systems for my connies and K27. I have a few older locomotives which are not worth getting such expensive sound and DCC systems; are there any suggestions for sound and DCC suitable for large scale which are affordable?

If you are willing to put good speakers on them, I have an MRC sound/motor DCC controller that I have in my two truck Shay that I am happy with.  Including shipping the DCC/sound and speaker cost me under $100.  No, it is not going to keep the purist happy, but it works for me.

I have a porter with an MRC decoder; but with no sound. Never run it though as I don't have a wireless receiver for it yet - I run with battery on Cliff Barker rail. http://www.cliffbarker.me.uk (http://www.cliffbarker.me.uk)
