Title: retofiting old Bacmann couiplers to ez mate

Is there a kit availabe to retrofit the old trains(20 yrs) to e-z mate couplers ? Or do I just have to improvise ?

Why e-z mate (sic)?  Kadees are so much better.

I wrote a tutorial on upgrading old couplers, usually Talgo type, to Kadee #148.

If Kadee #5 fit, please use them. I can vouch for those " God's gift to Model railroaders".

Most Kadee replacements are a drop in fit.  Start with Kadee #5s.  If you have a fair number of cars with coupler boxes on the bottom of the car, consider buying a bulk pack - much cheaper.

go with kadee #5 couplers , i use them on all my rolling stock and allmost all locos
