Punkn,
There are oil bottles that come with long thin tubes so you can reach these bearings.

If you don't have one you can go to a fishing tackle shop and ask for a worm inflator, which is usually just a little plastic bottle with a hollow needle.

It's worth the wait to get it fixed correctly, I love Bachmanns products with proper maintenance they run very well, I've run big haulers literally thousands of miles over the course of a few holiday seasons.

Ps make sure to lube those bearings so you don't have a recurrence of this issue.

I'm missing something... I didn't see where it's a new loco in your previous post.

Being new I would get it replaced under warranty, since these locos usually run very well for a long time

I had a similar issue on a used loco, I disassembled the loco rugged up the plastic and then used two part export to build up the warn area, after it set for a week I told and sanded it to shape, I cleaned the bushings and lived them and reassembled it. It's been fine since the repairs.

Hi,

I Made some simple springs to hold my switches in one direction for this same function.

Find some medium size safety pins
Cut the head and point off.
Set it on the ties so one end is against the outside of the track and the coil is on a tie.
Mark the other end where it will be bent at a right angle to point down into the point actuator and where the coil is on the tie for a small screw.

Install it so it just pulls the point back after the wheels go through the points.

Set up a length of track and use your lightest car to test the operation.

A couple more tips,
If you need a lighter acting spring you can bend some wire and make the spring long enough to rest on the next tie.

Also add weight to cars if they want to ride up over the point instead of opening it.

Don't tighten the screw through the spring coil leave it lose so the spring/safety pin moves freely.

This set up has worked without issues because there's a minimum amount of moving parts
Just make the action as light as you can and still be reliable, if you make it close to tight you will have to add more weight, this will result in more wear on the points from the wheels, which reminds me of something else, make sure all your rolling stock have metal wheels.

remove all your locos from your track place the loco you want to reset on the track select service track programing set cv8 to 8

this will do a full reset on the decoder

again only place the loco you want to reset on the track any locos on the track would be reset when using service track programming.

Nice!

I would love to go there.

How was the ride? was it smooth? or is it like a boat ride?

I have a Ez command and companion as well as a dynamis, I use the EZ command and only pull out the dynamis to program the locomotives.

the ez command makes it so simple to run locos.

I like all of the equipment

The basic dynamis system does not read CV's I would suggest doing a reset of the loco which will set it back to address #3

With so much technology in the world today it's rediculous that they don't have automatic systems that would slow the train to max speed limits based on the trains GPS position.

They are testing driverless cars in this country for goodness sake...

Sad that profits keep safety in the dark ages.

You definitely. need diodes installed between the pickups and capacitors otherwise the capacitors will drain to the other electronics through the track.

N scale is small for the biggest group of Thomas fans to handle, Think "Choking hazard", Im surprised anyone made them.
