Dear Mr. Bachmann:
Here is a link to locos similar to the Bachmann Indy:
http://www.cplerr.com/engineroster.html
Note how the boiler is low slung. The Bachmann Indy boiler sits too high.
Can you produce a follow up to the Indy with a low slung boiler, one steam dome, one sand dome, cow catcher, diamond stack, oil burner headlamp, cab with side windows of equal length?
Can you build this Indy follow up at the same scale as the present Indy?
You cab use the existing Indy tender and existing Indy drive.
You only need to create a new cab and boiler. Maybe shrink the driver diameter.
Is this too much to ask?
Thank you
Norman
I cannot find them at the moment but I do have photos of plantation locos of the Indy type with higher pitched boilers. If I can find them will post links here

Several years ago I was in Pioche (pronounced Pee-oach) NV. There is an Indy 2-6-0 in a park near the Court House/County Seat/Sheriff's Office (NV's million dollar County Seat location from the 1800's). I shot pictures of it and sent copies to Backmann (Bud Reece I believe). The engine was in poor shape and could use some T.L.C. It is almost identical to the Bachmann model.

I think this is it http://www.steamlocomotive.info/vlocomotive.cfm?Display=889 which is said to be an ALCO
The Pioche loco is Chicago & North Western RR No. 279
But see also http://www.fennimore.com/railmuseum/ Which is said to be a DAVENPORT
The Fennimore loco seems to be a 'ringer'
See also http://www.mcrwy.com/collectn/woodfrt/cnw10.html. IIRC RMC recently had plans of this boxcar.
See also http://www.fennimore.com/railmuseum/train-gallery.php for photo of 279 in 1912
and for models of the C & NW Dinky see here

Apparently this is the loco now at Fenimore and is a re-built Davenport 0-4-2 re built by the Godchaux Plantation for use in its cane fields..
Can Mr Bachmann tell us which prototype was used/ inspected, in the designing of the Indy?

The industrial 2-6-0 was a re-invention of Bachmann's 2-4-2 "Columbia," which was itself based on a rather diminutive but still extant Hawaiian plantation loco. (Hawaii Ry #5, now operating in Connecticut.)

But was presumably inspired by a loco or 2 which are still extant?
If anyone wants to check out the dimensions of the Indy here are 4 sources for drawings of similar looking locos.
