How do you know that Sean? They may well decide to retool to give DCC capabilities to the Thomas range over time.

Don't forget too that since it is designed for use with the Bachmann E-Z track system with the plastic base that it may well be quite high above normal track without the base. I can't confirm that but I would say it is higher than normal platforms.

You will be able to change the sounds by adjusting certain CV values. Is there an instruction sheet included with the decoder? This should list CV values and say which to adjust for which character you want.

Unfortunately none of the Bachmann locos are DCC Ready.
