The idea is that you are not supposed to step on the rope. It is good practice for bungee jumping

I subscibe to the magazines for the ads. The pricing in the ads is more up  to date than the websites, which don't get updated very often

HO / Re: Problems with 2-8-0
May 05, 2009, 01:19:33 AM
I have two 2-8-0 with sound that I consider to be excellent engines . Of the 20 or so that I run on a rotational basis I considers them my favourites but behind my
challenger.

My whole layout is EZtrack and I have 10 turnouts. I can say that I have experienced none of your problems. I run all  steamersand the only problem I had was due to turnouts having a little twist in them created by the base . I solved the problem by ensuring that the turnouts were fastened securely to the layout base. The rest of the track  requires fastening only here and there. I hope I helped.

In my opinion it is not new in box . The foam support material is not cut the way it would be if in a factory box . Where are the curved track pieces.. There is no complete description.  That is the way I see it

I wish the industry would come out with some new tools . I can find nothing left to buy. I seem to have it all and some in duplicate . I guess it doesn't matter since I can't drive anymore to do my shopping.

Some people like to have a library. It is usually nice and quiet so that a person can read.

Try Golf Manor Hobbies . I have been able to get parts there for old Rivarossi locos.

HO / Re: Big Engines, small curves
April 24, 2009, 01:03:46 AM
There are some large engines that will run through 18" very well . I have a 4-6-6-4 Challenger that goes around 18" curves magnificently. I have a BLI 4-8-4 that also goes through 18"curves . My 2-10-2  will go through 18' curves while my 2-10-0  will not . A lot has to do with the mfg , the spacing of the drivers  is there a set of blind drivers and are you looking at the loco from an aesthetics point of  view or from a practical point of view . Everything cannot be brought to scale and matched . If you want to run large engines on your track do so . There are many large engines that will run 18" curves without problems. I do it so can you.

I cant' handle the smell of Isopropyl  Alcohol and so I use methanol which I purchase from paint store or lumber store . It is  also cheaper . Being as close to pure as possible it leaves no film which Rubbing alcohol will do .  I find that the best way to clean you track is to use it quite often.

To echo Rick . Call first and order by ph .
That way  you know if what you want is in stock. Walthers is more expensive than most of the online shops such as Trainworld or Caboose. Still order by ph most have 800 no.

You have done a very professional job of modifying the  2-8-0 . I have one that has only been run long enough to determine that it does run. I consider it  a beautiful loco as it is . Please consider this as just an honest question . It is not my intention to question anyones  intentions but why does anyone find it necessary to modify a loco that looks so good to begin with.
