General Discussion / Bachmann Vs. Competition
April 28, 2009, 09:43:22 PM
This is a message to show my appreciation for the team at Bachmann Trains.....and Especially Tom in Service....
I own an Empire and have many Bachmann products....Engines, Buildings, etc.  Over the years of my Railroading I have often heard people, including dealers, tell me who they thought was tops in their book for products, quality and performance. Kato is usually somewhere at the top of the list along with Life Like, Intermountain and others........I have never heard anyone tell me that they put Bachmann anywhere near the top of the list in those categories. I had two CSX Diesels that I thought did not run up to my expectations....I sent them to Tom in Service....He checked them out and replaced them with new engines...NO QUESTIONS ASKED...........
Well, I am here to testify that I have my share of problems with all products regardless of the brand.
I have never witnessed the kind of service I have continually received from the "Bachmann Team". These people are tops in my book......Their products are tops in my book....and I am pleased to say I will continue to build and add to my Empire with the Bachmann Name. As Long a s they continue to have people like Tom in Service, and their Service Manager, whom I have had the pleasure of dealing with more than once.....I will buy their products with Confidence and Pride. Their Steam Locos not only Look like the real thing....their Diesels likewise....But they also perform at the top of the list. I am retired from my own business with 36 years of Profitability.....and I can attest to everyone reading this note......"Service isn't everything.....It is the ONLY Thing."
It is readily apparent to me.....The Bachmann Team is a leader in this industry because they realize this fact. I am not Bias.....I am just a very satisfied customer with every facet of their business. I WOULD BE PROUD TO BE A DEALER WITH THIS COMPANY...
Mr. Bachmann, whomever you are, I hope you read this. and I sincerely hope the rest of the team gets to read this.
Please keep up the good work.....Trainmangs

Gentlemen....and or Ladies......I just purchased a pair of Bachmann Spectrum  8-40-CW CSX Diesel Locos. To break them in I ran them one at a time on an oval for an hour each way.....left to right and right to left........I own an Empire with many engines both steam and diesel........My question is why do these new engines perform so poorly............I have two top of the line power packs and all my engines perform great.....I have a Kato Diesel that will run rings around these Spectrums.........Even after a couple of hours........They barely make it around the oval......with the power pack set at 90.....
They look great but their performance has left me wondering if I made the wrong purchase.????? I bought them from a well respected Bachman Dealer on Ebay......brand new with factory warranty.......As I said these babies are beautiful....but they are SLOOOOOOOWWWWWW. Can anyone offer any help.?  How about the Bachmann.

N / Trio of BNSF....Neat
March 24, 2008, 12:44:10 PM
Hello fellow railroaders.....I have a question for anyone who knows the answer....I have a real neat trio of BNSF Diesels....Three different types & manufacturers.....All the same color scheme......I like running them in a set to pull a 21 car freight....or a 22 car log train.....They each run with different speed and power.....Which one would you you put first, second and third.....Or would you not run them together at all...Does it make a difference????...I am just doing it for looks......Each one of them can pull the load alone.....Looking forward to any answers....Thanks again......Trainmangs :) :) :) :)

N / Bachmann vs. Competition
February 28, 2008, 09:12:35 PM
Here is a good one for all you Professional Modelers out there......I am relatively new to all of this....I have built an empire and am having a ball... I am in the Northeastern part of the country, and Bachmann is not rated Highly in some of the dealers(N Scale) around here.....Now let me set the record straight.......I really like them, (Bachmann)....I have bought their products, also dealt with their management team at the home office, They are great and have treated me very well. I HAVE NO COMPLAINT WITH THIS MANUFACTURER, OR THEIR PRODUCTS. Why do dealers push Kato, Lifelike, virtually most others over Bachmann..???? I don't get it........I think their stuff is great.....Anyone care to jump on this one..?????
How about The Bachmann.....Looking forward to anyone's comments.....

A Newbie.....and Grateful Bachmann customer.....Trainman
