I don't think Hiro is the engine we should expect next year or maybe even in the next year or two, but his possibility of being in the range is still up in the air.  If I were to make a "top 5" list of engines I'd expect to see in the future Hiro would be 5th for that reason.  In theory, he'd be an extremely nice model and he holds the right potential, and he would be a great seller, but in reality it'd be very expensive to put together and sell.  Personally, I don't think the radius thing is that much of an issue, but I can understand why people would see that as to why that would hold Hiro back.

He's a great character, but I'd rather see Bachmann attempt Murdoch, or Molly, or perhaps redesign Spencer's body...? Who knows.

It's funny you mention Murdoch...he'd be worse than Hiro if he was on a 18'' radius curve. :P

Oh crud, I'd forgotten xD
And.. "Red Box" already has their own version of the character.
What other standard-gauge tender engines can Bachmann do that they haven't done already? I can't think of any.

I believe you can take an ERTL toy version of Lady and give it OO wheels like others have in the past. Google "HO(or OO) Lady" and eventually you'll find a blog explaining how to do it.
Or, you can always just take bits and pieces of other engines and 'bash' one together.
If I were to, I'd want to go for the second option- sounds more fun!

While I think Bachmann would do a superb job with Hiro, I think he's less likely because of the previously discussed issue with the drive wheels and curve radii, but also because of the tender. I'd think the bogies would be smooth on long sections of straight and curved track, but on points they might not do so well. My worry is that one side will cross the points, while the other will derail itself behind. Minor worry there.

He's a great character, but I'd rather see Bachmann attempt Murdoch, or Molly, or perhaps redesign Spencer's body...? Who knows.

I think Jeremy in the range adds a little diversity. He is a plane, after all, and to add to a HO layout or not, I'm sure some kid's parents wouldn't mind picking up Jeremy for their kid. We'll just have to wait and see how that jet plane does..

S.C.Ruffey wasn't in more than one television series episode, but he seems to be in many different merchandising ranges regardless. If the Lorries are in any way marketable, then I think they could do alright. I would prefer Trevor, Butch, or Bulgy, though. I'm not sure how Elizabeth would fare, but it would be nice to complete the Season 6 new cast. I'd like that! :)

Chassis yes, wheels would definitely find use in a newer character later on.. like Charlie or Rosie. She's a new series character, so younger fans would probably recognize her more than say Murdoch or Harvey. It would be nice to see the latter come in to the range, but I don't think it's really very likely that we'll see an official Harvey chuffing down the HO tracks any time soon. Ah well.

Who knows what the future will bring? We'll just have to wait and see ;)

Well, that sounds like a very solid wishlist for the next two or three years to come, ModelTrainFan538. I would imagine a wildcard 'New Series' character popping up, like Jeremy did this year, or another one-off joining the range.. perhaps a Lorry would do?

If Stepney were ever introduced from Bachmann, something tells me they'd find a way to reuse No. 55's wheels and another character's motor/etc, like Salty, to introduce another character into the range.. like Rosie.
I just really want to see Rosie in the range. She's a personal favorite of the newer characters for me, and considering all the CG action up in here, well.. why not?

That's the shiniest mountain I've ever seen  :P

Having said that, I like how it's progressing so far. Hope to see more soon :)

I believe that is from "The Deputation".

"You're it!"
"I'm what 'it'?"

I don't know about the tankers, but what sort of face are you talking about?

Something like the big van at the end of the train that chased Duck in "A Close Shave for Duck", or are you thinking of something not so cheery?

I imagine the next truck will be CG-faced, if we are to follow the current trend in the releases..

Nice work, TobyTheTram16! It was indeed "James and the Trouble with Trees".

The episode your quote is from is "Harvey to the Rescue".
Here's my next quote:

"She'll be spic-and-span by the time you collect her."

The Episode is "Buzz Buzz".

Now for a tricky one.

"Rubbish! It wouldn't dare!"

That would be "James and the Express" if I'm not mistaken.

"Oliver has not returned. We'll send out a search party."

It's got to be "Thomas Comes to Breakfast"!

"Firelighter's promised to come early tomorrow. You won't need a scarf, Percy."

(I hope I got that right)

I wouldn't mind seeing that Ore Wagon make its way into the Thomas range... a simple lick of paint, and behold- a new Thomas truck!

I wonder what Troublesome Truck 4 will be like.. maybe it will be a wagon with fewer planks, set low to the ground.. like one of the trucks seen in "Percy's Predicament", or in "Busy Going Backwards"?
I do wonder.

There's some very nice shots here of the layout, and it looks to be coming along very well!

I like how Bulstrode is tilted- his face makes it look like he's about to fall over!

I also rather like the bottom two images. They look busy and full of life, and I like that a lot. :)
