Title: Bachmann diesels "skidding" down grade
Post by: plint on February 11, 2021, 08:49:49 AM
I have 4 Bachmann DCC diesels that seem to want to skid to a stop coming down a 2% grade.  I thought I read somewhere that someone changed a CV to slow down something that causes this.  They run fine on level track, just coming "down the mountain" they seem to skid and it's not a fast speed, either.  Does anyone know which CV?
Thanks

The problem can be solved by resetting the deceleration rate, CV4. My Bachmann locomotives are boxed up at the moment pending a move so I can't read what value I programmed into the decoder. Experiment around with various values until you find one that stops the skidding without adding too much momentum to the locomotive. From my experience, this problem only seems to affect the DCC onboard decoders.
