I have a bachman doodlebug can it be made to run digitrax dcc if so how do i GET THE THING OPENED ? GLENN

I presume it is an N-scale doodlebug as the H0 ones come with decoders already installed.  There is a very good article on installing a decoder in a Bachmann N-scale doodlebug at the link below.  The DZ120 decoder they used is obsolete but the Digitrax DZ125 decoder that replaced it is an even better decoder at a better price.  At the bottom of the article, there is a link to yet another installation method.

That is not entirely accurate.  I just bought a HO scale one from an Ebay store, that is not DCC decoder installed.  It did have the socket though..... ;D
