Just purchased a Bachmann 70 ton switcher which is terribly loud. It seems to me I've noticed this same problem in other Bachmann engines. Is this just a matter of poorly designed and cut gears or is it just something that's put up with because of such reasonable prices? I have repacked the gear and lubed the appropriate areas to no avail. Still overly loud to me. Help?
