If the loco is DCC, it replaces the DCC plug to convert it to just DC.

Sounds like it is jumpered for DC. In the directions does it tell you to change or remove a plug?

General Discussion / Re: dEISEL WON'T RUN

It would appear that your caps lock key is stuck.

Have you tried resetting it to the factory defaults? Can you hear anything while trying to use it. Have you taken the shell off to see if the motor turns? Are the pickups making contact with the wheels.

I have one in for repair right now, it ran very erratically on DCC, seem to run better on DC. The driver on the left side came off so I sent it back. I also bought it from a secondary seller. I am concerned that it was either a return or a reverb. Do you mind if I ask for the seller was? you may repsond off forum if you like.
Thanks

Political Correctness does count :P. I have found the Bachmann Ezmate Mark II to be very durable. The Mark II would be the one with the spring, as VS the one with the plastic

If you can set CV's, CV 8 will reset the decoder to the Bachmann defaults

General Discussion / Re: switching my layout to DCC
January 30, 2013, 05:17:07 PM
I started with a EZ command console, expanded that to a EZ command walk around, so that I could have a controller at the other end of my layout. I found that I could NOT look at CV's or program CV's with them. I then went to an NCE power cab, then to a second power cab, then expanded again to a 5 amp power supply. While this may not be typical, it was what I could afford as I went along. I came to trains late, and seem to have caught the bug good. I would suggest that you think/plan ahead before purchasing anything. Decide what you want to do, how many trains you want to run at the same time, whether "recall" is important to you, whether you will want to edit/change/look at CV's. I was very happy with my Bachmann products, I am also happy with my NCE system.
