HO / Wobble wobble?
August 01, 2017, 02:30:44 PM
I have a box car and a caboose that wobble when they get past a slow roll. The trucks don't have screws they are the snap in type so I can't tighten  them. What would cause the wobble and is there a fix? I was thinking maybe an out of round wheel? They don't derail they just wobble.

Not sure what their called, the little rubber traction rings that go on the drive wheels. I need some new ones for my old F9 locomotive and I cant seem to find them on the Bachmann site. Any one know where to get them? Thanks for any help.

HO / Cutting track?
June 23, 2017, 03:36:43 PM
Anyone ever cut down Bachmann ez track? I need two four inch pieces. I know I can buy them but I thought it would be worth a shot, I have a few extras. Don't seem like it would be that hard to do. My thought was make the cuts with a dermal tool then use joiners and solder  them together. Any input is appreciated

Hey guys can some one tell how wide my table will need to be if I build an oval using 22 degree curves? length is not a problem. I would like to have three inches of over hang. I'm going to add on to my existing table which is now four feet wide and twelve feet long. Thanks for any help. James

HO / led install?
June 08, 2017, 06:43:19 PM
Well I wired up an led in one of my locos, pretty simple cut the old bulb out, install the resistor solder the led in and I'm done. works great very bright. Put the loco in reverse  and no light! HA! led's only work in one direction, wire them backwards and they don't work. I guess I dont need lights to back up any way LOL!

No I think it has more to do with the gears then the motor.  What locomotive is it?
Reverse is accomplished by polarity not by any gear change. there is no transmission to make a gear change its all direct drive is it not?

HO / Power taps?
June 03, 2017, 01:16:52 PM
One more ? while I'm at. At how many feet of track do you start adding power taps? With the slot cars I find under 50 feet you don't need them, But the train motors are doing maybe 100 fold the work. Thanks for the help you guys give I'm really enjoying the trains. Should have bought one along time ago.

HO / Faster in reverse?

Why would my locomotive's have more power in reverse? Now I'm very new to this hobby so my knowledge is very limited. I been into slot cars for years so I know the little motors work, I'm thinking maybe the brushes are worn in one direction and when you go in reverse they make better contact?
