Large / resonable grade for incline
March 26, 2007, 11:11:47 AM
??? Being new to G scale, and just about ready to start laying track, could someone be so kind as to tell me what a reasonable grade would be.  I mean would something like 1 inch rise for every 1 foot traveled be ok, or would that be too much?

Thank you very much,

How did you ever manage to hide a Bachmann decoder in the Saddle Tanker?  I could barely get a DZ123 in the smoke box and couldn't see anywhere else for a decoder, except maybe the cab.

Unfortunately, I didn't!  Bachmann's service department told me that the decoder would fit, so that is what I bought and installed.  The locomotive operated quite well, but I spent 3 days trying to put the shell back on the chassis and came very close, but couldn't do it.  I have sent the loco back to Bachmann, and am waiting to hear what they have to say.

Sorry for the misinformation........ I got ahead of myself.

;D Hello,  I just finished installing a Bachmann dual mode decoder in that very locomotive.  A bit tight but not a problem.  You do need to know how to solder.
