Dear Friends,
In order not to highjack Jonathon's thread, I found this thrilling description about John Allen of the Apollo missions fame:

I gotta tell you, I still get goose bumps at the Apollo 13 movie scene when there is 3 minutes of radio silence !
I sort of think of Jim Banner that way, a "nerves of steel rail road man."
Best Wishes,
Jack
i like this john allen better...lol

Dear Jeff,
That was perfection, wasn't it ?
Thank goodness it is saved in pictures.
Best Wishes,
Jack
i remember being a little kid, looking at my dad's magazines when john allen was still alive. i always enjoyed his work. it set the stage for later influences like allen mcclelland and tony koester. the beauty of john's work is that by all accounts, ran as well as it looked. he was a visionary, so far ahead of his time in so many respects.
perfection? if not, pretty darned close.....
Allen or Aaron?
I'm confused!
John Aaron was an astronaut and John Allen built the Gorre & Daphetid RR.
The link posted was for John Aaron I believe.
