Thomas & Friends / Skarloey Pulling Power
March 02, 2023, 12:24:16 PM
Hello Everyone!

I'm hoping to get some feedback from everyone regarding the pulling power of Skarloey.

Does anyone else notice that his pulling power is not all that impressive and struggles with certain loads? I recently got some of the narrow guage coaches from the newely released batch, and he can barely pull 2 of them on a level surface and the second there's any kind of incline he simply stops.
Peter Sam can pull 4 of the coaches perfectly fine on an incline, but Skarloey is useless. It's really frustrating I can't have him pull coaches.

Is Skarloey that weak, or could there be something up with the coaches creating a lot of drag? I use Bachmann EZ track and have their N scale tier system as my incline as a reference.

Thanks for your input everyone!

Thomas & Friends / Narrow Gauge Coaches
February 27, 2023, 10:31:40 AM
Hey everyone. I need some feedback from everyone regarding the free rolling capabilities of the narrow gauge coaches.
About 4 days ago I got 2 of each narrow gauge coach in the mail after waiting FOREVER for them to be re-released. I've come to notice that they hate to free roll and their wheels are too tight within their slots.
Skarloey can barely pull 2 of the coaches on a flat and level track, and the second an incline is presented, he just wheel slips. Peter Sam having the powered rear wheel can pull them better, but I feel as if they shouldn't be this stiff. I even lubed the wheels up and nothing.
Has anyone else noticed that their narrow gauge coaches are stiff rollers and are a challenge for the engines to pull? Or did I just get really unlucky and get 4 stiff coaches? Feedback is appreciated!
