Title: 4-8-4 Northern HO Bowser conversion kit
Post by: FWDGUY on March 05, 2009, 03:16:34 PM
Ok, 2 years later I just ordered the Bowser 356 conversion kit. With Bowser to stop making steam locomotives, I ordered mine today finally.

A few questions. How is the headlight affected? Smoke unit? Do they need to be reattached to the Bowser unit and how is this done.

Also what is envolved to remove the gear assembly from the old Bachmann unit? Does it come off in one piece?

Thanks,

Mark

I think you will find that Bowser has instruction on what you need to do.  I got one a long time
ago that was made by English.  If I remember correctly, it had tender wheels which weare the
correct size for the SP daylight, but too small for the Santa Fe .  If that is still the case, get some
contacts so you can pick up power from the locomotive instead of the tender.

Looks like some of his questions are being answered in the Trains.com forums also.
