Post by: sedfred on February 12, 2016, 11:45:44 PM
I just got a new DCC baldwin 2-8-0 yesterday, i love it! but can i run it with my alco 2-6-0 which is plain DC? i use a DC power pack. also what about doubleheading 2 DCC locomotives on DC track? will they get damaged?

no you probably won't be able to run dcc and analog locos together as a doubleheader on  dc analog layout. the dcc equipped locomotives will require about half throttle just to get moving, because of the way the decoder works, and the dcc locomotive will run sluggishly compared to the dc loco. you should be able to doublehead  dcc locos though.

How about unplugging the decoder and using the dummy plug.
