N / Re: Lubricating an engine? What oil is okay?

I use Labelle 106 and other lubricants that are specifically designed for model railway equipment.

Most definitely DO NOT USE the following : which are marked in red
Penetrating oil(house hold )
WD40
they will eat the plastic

I would ask a professional model railroader or at least someone who has been in the hobby for a long time   what he would use .

I concur with brokemoto , stay clear of these. The only thing that is good about these is the gears and tender for a kit bashing project. I see it the Bachmann 2-8-2's are good for a scrap yard display on any layout.

Here's a small list of steam loco's that I have.

3  2-8-0's BACHMANN SPECTRUM
1. KATO 2-8-2
2. Fleischmann 2-8-2's
1. Roundhouse-ATHEARN- 2-8-0

These items were listed in the online products catalog when they were announced at the NMRA convention back in July. Since there are about 10 pages of HO motive power items it is easier to search for them by name or item number (62401 through 62405).
They have also been announced in our monthly newsletter (November edition) and will be listed as a featured item before the end of the month.
You can sign up to receive the newletter on the Bachmann homepage.

OH my!  And Thank you Jack .

Thanks all for the answering my post.I was unaware of these models being available, there is nothing on the website in the HO-SCALE section about these that I saw. By the way Jack do you think it's time to update the website for the HO-SCALE section to include these new locomotives, in order to inform people about these locomotives becoming or are available?  Thank you again to those who answered my post..
