It is not DCC ready but it can be with a Bachmann DCC decoder. Have fun

that's onfusing. dcc ready means motor isolated from frame, to make installing a dcc decoder easier. installing a decoder in a locomotive not dcc ready will probably fry the decoder.....

did you perhaps mean, dcc equipped?

Just because an engine is not DDC ready does not mean that you can't install a decoder in it.  You'll have to isolate the motor but that's not too hard.  I've got a few Niagaras from the early 2000's (not DCC ready) that I installed decoders in and all it took was a few evening's worth of tinkering to make sure that I have everything isolated properly.

It will be "HARD" for those who have not done this before and do not know how to solder.
