Title: Trolley stopped running
Post by: jfairbank on October 13, 2008, 09:19:45 AM
I have the christmas village trolley set.  This is the one with the trolley that will auto reverse.  Out of the box it ran great.  Then the second Christmas it was up it seemed to run very slowly.  Now it won't run at all.  I've cleaned the track and tested the trolley on a standard track that is powered by a tranformer and the trolley runs great.  It's only on the special reversing track that it won't run.  Any sugestions?

Dear jfairbank,
Make sure you have the end section of track (not the bumper)  in the right place/ position.
Have fun!

Use a DC voltmeter to check the voltage across the rails.

It's possible the power supply output voltage has degraded or there's some other fault in the electronics.

The end track is in the right place.   What type of voltage should I see across the track?

I think the trolley itself has gone bad.  I get about 7.2 volts with the meter on the track.  I out another engine on the track and it works just fine going back and forth.  I'm sending in a repir request as we speak

7.2 volts is correct.

The trouble is with the trolley and you are correct about getting it repaired.
