Sorry Guys - Have obviously tried all those things first.

Have reset decoder & checked & double checked all mute options - nothing to do with the DCC

.....it's definitely a fault somewhere on the loco.

On30 / Forney struck dumb ??

Hi gang,

It's been a while since I posted anything - been too busy lately layout building / laying track.

Can anyone throw any light on this?

I bought 3 'noisy' Forneys, have never run any of them other than a few times up and down a straight length of test track, as I am only just getting round to permenent track laying on my new layout.

So none have run for more than about 20 minutes in total.

However, one of them has just been struck dumb - unexpectedly and instantly - without warning.

One minute - absolutely fine, the next, total silence.

Everythng else is working fine - power, headlight, etc. I've tried resetting the decoder (successfully) - but it's made no difference ...silll no sound.

It does give the occasional strangled moan for just a millisecond or so if I try to blow the whistle after first switching on - so it's not a blown speaker.....but that's as far as it gets.

I do have to say that I'm a bit teed-off at having a loco struck dumb after little or no use.

Anyone got any bright ideas as to what the problem could be - or has anyone else had this happen?  It's got me totally mystified (and not a little annoyed - after all, I couldbuy a dumb one for a lot less money).

General Discussion / Sorry Guys

Sorry Guys - but don't like the new board format at all.

On the old board, I found posts in various scales and gauges to be of interest and it was easy to see the suject of ALL posts at a glance, therefore making reply very easy.

This new format is a minefield, taking MUCH longer to dive between different scales, different subjects, etc.

Far too complicated I think.
