Hey ScottyB,

I live near Milwaukee (within a half hour) I have been buying my On30 Annual from Green field News & Hobby for the past 4-5 years. You will need to go to the trains section of the "Hobby Shop" not the Magazine section of the "News" stand.
     http://greenfieldnewsandhobby.com/catalog-new2.html
I attended Trainfest also. I had a blast as did my Son In-law & Grandson 2 1/2 yrs. old.

Enjoy,

Hey Bobwrgt,

I was there on Fathers day weekend. The beautiful Narrow Gauge #7 Shay was running and a great ride through the woods it was. We also rode in/on the other gauges of trains. Walking around looking at all the Steam tractors and other steam equipment was Quite an experience to visit. Oh yes the Ice Cream was sooooo Delicious.  Try these sites for info:

http://hesston.org/       or also try:

http://www.michigancity.com/Hesston/Hesston.html             Also some more (unofficial Info) Great pics too.:

Hey Guys,

I have a couple of these Beautiful little engines and they do just fine around the one 15" Curve on my layout without looking ridiculous or stupid.
I must agree with the ever wise Harold "Best On30 locomotive made, bar none."
P.s. Thanks for the Pic Harold and all you do for this forum and gauge of the Hobby.

Enjoy,

Jeff,
As I said I would Post: BachMann nice freight set

            http://shop.bachmanntrains.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=487_672&products_id=5130

Passenger sets try:

          http://www.bradfordexchange.com/mcategory/villages-and-trains_9876/trains--accessories.html?shopalldept&village-train&train?shopalldept&village-train&train

These are best bought from E-Bay as the price is too ridiculous from original vendor. Although I have been guilty of allowing my wife to splurge on me for some of these sets.

Enjoy

Hey Jeff,

You might want to try On30. This is O scale but runs on HO track. You can use Bachmann s EZ-Track, I suggest the silver track which uses the grey roadbed. This seems to have better conductivity.
   Bachmann sells some nice sets.
I will post links when I can get to computer as I am on my phone now.

Enjoy,

HO / Re: Foam
March 22, 2014, 11:45:19 PM
ILC,
I have seen layouts purposely use the 2 in. foam to have enough room to carve out streams/rivers and also lakes. Just fill with blue water filler from woodland etc. and looks great leaving enough room for rocks along river edge and cut at a long bevel edge for beach sand at the lakes.
Good luck with what ever you choose.

   Enjoy,

On30 / Re: Beer Cars
March 07, 2014, 01:23:10 AM
Erik,
This is all your fault for peaking my interest in these but Just this past weekend, I made a big score. I purchased 6 brand new Beer cars:

2005 was the 1st year of the On30 Reefer cars

27465 River Horse  Brewing Co.           Listed as New in 2005 catalog
27466 Bricktown  Brewery                   Listed as New in 2005 catalog
27467 John Harvards Brewhouse          Listed as New in 2005 catalog
27469 Amherst Brewery
27470 Rampo Valley
27471 Dogfish Head Craft Brewery  (pale Green)
I was at a local Train show a friend of mine runs and he had this guy, who handles mostly On30, cancelled just didn't show up for his Table. I just happened to be talking to my friend when the On30 guy calls him to explain his Box truck broke down. so I just made arrangements to go to his home, climbed into the back of his box truck and dug through his stuff. and made me think of you.

I have looked at my 2010 catalog and have a few more part #'s

27479 Dogfish Head IPA (Cream color)
27480 Berkshire Brewing
27481 Captain Lawrence Brew Pub
27482 Rohrbach's Brewing

Enjoy,
 Barry

On30 / Re: State Cars
March 07, 2014, 12:21:32 AM
Hey Erik,

I just seen a complete state set in HO at a train show in the Wisconsin area.
Just a quick look at E-bay I find at least 4 different Manufacturers in HO who have done a State sets. Most are older guessing 60's & 70's sets. I think one Co did it around the Bi-Centennial 1976. Some of the Companies who did these do not exist anymore.

I too would love to see this in On30.
I think the B-Man could call these extended anticipation.

Enjoy,

I also like the wood burners. I think that is why BOfan put them in front, just for you and I.

HO / Re: Track Cleaning Car
January 13, 2014, 10:19:01 PM
WB2002,

I have another option. Try:  http://www.mnpinc.com/Home.htm    I have one of these in On30 it uses a Bachmann Boxcar to hold the mechanics. I do not use or recommend the sandpaper as I feel it will leave unwanted metal shavings and micro grooves in my tracks that will just make it dirty faster.

Enjoy,
Barry

On30 / Re: Mixing Scales
January 09, 2014, 01:55:34 PM
On30Don,
I have also seen O Guage in the foreground and On30 in the background area using HO or S scale buildings, this is called forced perspective making it look farther away or more distance between them.

Enjoy,

On30 / Re: Waiting for a Bachmann 2-6-2 Prairie
December 12, 2013, 09:37:27 AM
Dear John,

I agree,  my next most anticipated Loco is the 2-6-2. I was so excited to have the American finally made and then given a choice of 2 very different  4-4-0's was just wonderful.
I would also love to see a Gandy Dancer, but have been told this will not happen in On30.
