I just bought a NOS Connie on Ebay. It came with the infamous tender truck breakage. I tryed the longer screw method to fix them but where they are broke does not fix the problem. What I really need is a glue to fix the broke parts. Tried CA and plastic model cement but no luck.
PS also came with the broken gear as well!
There's a surgical solution that involves a little work with a razor saw, but it's not difficult. I've got photos of the process, but I'm away from my home computer at the moment. I'll post them in a few days.

Permatex makes a two part 2 ton epoxy for plastic. Get it at a auto parts store. it sets up very hard and can be drilled and tapped if need be. Just an Idea.....Later all S.B.
You could try Methyl Ethyl Ketone, MEK, available at paint and car parts stores.
Or you could order some new ones from Bachmann:

Just get a replacement set of trucks from Bachmann. The new ones will have a much better life.
I am an adhesives specialist, and can tell you that there is no commercially available adhesive that will permanently join the plastic used in Bachmann's trucks. Some appear to work, but all will fail within a short time.

BTW, You could always toss the tender trucks an get Accucraft ones... bit spendy, but they won't break
I used 5 minute epoxy, 5 years ago and it is still going strong!!
