do you have a volt meter?
the power might not be reaching the track.

let us know.

best of luck

it may not need a repair it may be a clog

blow a small breath down the smoke stack and this should remove the clog if it still doesn't work call bachmann service

OK great ::) just thinking about adding some more track to my layout (When don't we think about it?) and i just needed to know what size straight track to use to get the magnet in safely and uncouple successfully and i also have space constraint's (who doesn't)

mainly because the motor is a DC motor not a AC two differant current types.

do you have a digital volt meter. if not i would get one it is allways got to have one when you work with trains. cheeck the track voltage if thats good then do an omhs test on the track and the train this will tell you if you have any problems with either the train or track. both could be problems.

i would get a volt meter and test the voltage going to the track you might have gotten a bad power pack it happens it's not bachmann's fault

i think he knows that and he said that his kids did it by accident so if that happened the motor is more than likely burned out but it be a might just be a burned wire so if he dose what i asked then we will know what to do.

you should let it rest about 30secs to a min before you power up again this should give it enough time to reset its self hope you get it working
