Title: power feeds on HO Steel track
Post by: twstrains on November 28, 2012, 02:30:07 PM
I just bought a BachmanThomas Set for the grandkids..It has steel track with black roadbed. If I double the amount of track do I need to add power feeds to the track? If so how do I do it?
Thanks

If you are only doubling the amout of track you get with the set, you should have plenty of power in your power pack.  Hope that helps,  Stephen

you don't HAve to double the feeds, but it probably wouldn't hurt either. just make sure the plugs are both the same polarity otherwise you'll get a dead short.

Steel isn't the world's best conductor so one or two additional feeders would be a good idea.
I'd also consider a very light coat of something like Conductalube, Wahl Oil or another
conducting fluid which will seal the steel surface and inhibit rust a bit.

Both a 9in straight and an 18in radius curve 'Terminal Track' is available seperately. Using one of them would be the simplest way to add an additional power feed.
