This is from the Soundtraxx web site-
K4 4-6-2 Pacific TSU-1000 Medium Steam 826102 810054/ 810110

Here is the page-http://www.soundtraxx.com/choose/step3.php?t=ho&s=Bachmann
I knew I saw it once when I had the same question.

HO / Re: Why no DCC
February 17, 2010, 11:06:22 PM
That is why restaurants have menu's. Everyone does not want the same thing. Some folks want pure DC. Others want DCC and still others want the whole thing with Sounds and bells as well. I think that it is wonderful that manufacturers like Bachmann offer choice.

HO / Three Truck Shay - Speed
January 25, 2010, 07:32:43 PM
Hi Everyone- I just bought a Bachmann 3 truck Shay and the previous owner said that it ran a bit slower than his other trains. Well, He was correct. This Shay operates at less than 1/2 the speed of my other Loco's. Maybe as slow as 1/3. I expected that it would be slower because of the design of the Shay, however is this speed normal?

HO / Re: Your Opinion on Smoke and Sound
January 17, 2010, 10:23:44 AM
I do not use smoke. I have only one unit with smoke, however I do not want to use smoke because of the dirt factor on the tracks.
As to sound- I love it. I have a Bachmann 4-6-0 (52") and I think that the sounds are great. The johnson bar activation, the water filling, chuging and  I can still hear the ckicking over the rails. I just installed a sound decoder in a older 4-6-2 Heavy Pacific (Rivarossi) and it is outstanding. The slower motion movement is exceptional. With a cab position of 1, there is a steam blow off, followed by a chug and a smooth slow take off. I is just outstanding.

HO / Re: LOCOS ON 18" Curve Track

Every thing that ABC said I agree with. I have a 4X8 layout and I have found that for Steam, I  have kept to 4-6-2 or smaller. Any Steam with 8 drive wheels may have a problem. With Diesel, I have kept to 2 axle trucks. I hope this helps.

HO / Sound Decoder
December 11, 2009, 09:48:59 PM
Would anyone happen to know what specific sound decoder and speaker will fit in a Bachmann Model #84114, K4 4-6-2 Pacific steam locomotive. I do not have one, but I am considering buying one and would like to give it sound. Do they have decoders with NMRA 8 PIN connectors? Thanks.

HO / Re: How to make a lake
March 01, 2009, 10:16:01 PM
Hi Darrell,
I made a lake on my layout by using my dremel with a round wood working tool. My plywood is 5/8", so I was able to route out 1/4" without a problem. I then painted the bottom as decribed in the video and I used Magic Water to fill in the lake. I am very pleased with how it came out.

SteamGene- Good question. I have bought Bachmann loco's at train shows and I asked the dealer for a paper receipt for just that reason. They were happy to provide same. I have also bought from dealers on E-Bay and the Loco's come with a paper receipt as well, shipped inside with the Loco.
Just my experience.

HO / Re: 2-8-4 berk

The J was derailing on a section that I had hand laid with flex and since relaid with sectional. However, now that I know that at least two others are having success, I will revisit and inspect that section. I am using 100 code, brass, Atlas and AHM Track. This means that I just need a minor ajustment and it should work. Thanks to all.

Hi Bob- I am sorry to say that I do not have any input on the Berk, so I can't give you any input. However, you said something that interested me greatly. You said that you have a Bli N&W J that is running on 18" radius. Well I have a Bli N&W J #600 with sound and I have had difficulity running it on 18" layout. I only tried once and then I wrote to Broadway and they said the recommendated track was 22". I have been planning on selling this, but you have given me hope. My J class is a 4-8-4. I also have a bli PRR K-4s that will run on the 18", and that is a 4-6-2. Please confirm that you have the same Class J and give me some encouragement.

Thanks,
Barney
