Title: DCCControl and DC Control
Post by: Jimmygee on February 10, 2015, 03:11:16 PM
When the Digital command Control System and the standard DC throttle are wired together (Fig. 18 in DCC Manual) is the amperage to the track increased or is it still one amp?

No additional amps, the second controller only allows for the control of one analog locomotive.

All the power pack does is send a DC voltage to the electronics in the EZ command controller.

The link below is by a long gone contributor. He shows you how one bit is stretched, positive going for one direction, or negative for reverse direction. The motor sees this stretched bit as DC. The other DCC pulses will make the motor buzz, all the time, even when the loco comes to a stop. You have to switch off the track or the motor might be damaged.

I use to have system that ran one DC and four DCC locos but that is a second best method of running model trains. I gave it away.
