Title: Spectrum GE DASH 8-40C HO Scale
Post by: JU19 on November 19, 2020, 04:39:08 PM
I am in the process of converting the above to DCC and would like to know if the LED's for lights (part # LEDXX10091) are rated for 12volts or do I need to add resistors (and if so what size)?

Thank you very much for any help or guidance

Regards

Frank,

LEDs need a resistor. I use 1K ohm resistors as a rule for LEDs.

That being said... Resistors are built into the PCB. If you are removing the board and "hardwiring" the decoder, you will need to add resistors to the LEDs.

However, that loco should be DCC ready. Does the board have an 8 pin socket for plugging in a decoder? Sure would make the process easy.
