I have ordered a Spectrum streetcar, which comes with a decoder and  it says sound ready.  I have read a few articles in this forum on adding a Digitrax soundbug to the existing decoder,  My question is would it be easier to remove the decoder and add a Digitrax SDH164D or a SDN144DS?  Won't the current decoder just unplug and then you purchase the decoder with sound and a 1.5" 9 prong plug to a 8 prong plug, plug it in and you would be done with it?  (also download the correct sounds into the decoder and purchase the correct size speaker)

Thanks.  Jack

HO / Re: Connecting multiple lighted sets

I bought a 12volt converter on Ebay and with that you will be able to run pretty much as many 12volt items you would need depending on which one you buy. They sell them with many different watts output and they sell from about $8.00 and up.  Mine is a 12v 10a 120watt output and it is $19.95 with free shipping to the USA from China. Item #271028213845 on Ebay. I am running over 100 3mm 12volt bulbs.

HO / changing F keys on Dynamis wirless DCC control system
September 08, 2012, 04:09:35 PM
I have Dynamis control system with wireless control and I also have a Broadway limited Paragon2 AC6000 with DCC with sound. I am having a difficult time changing some of the F keys on the Dynamis,  I want to make for example F4 Comprssor/Blower to the F12 key and I want to change the F12 Brake key to the F4.  I have read the book like 20 times and the only thing I can see in the book is how to latch a F key.  In the Broadway book it says change the CV#, well I did that and as far as I can tell nothing happened, the engine moved to indicate being programed but it did not change the Fkey.  Please help me if you can.  Jack

HO / Re: wheel size
September 01, 2012, 03:50:42 PM
thank you for your assistance, I decided to buy some 33 and 36 and see which work best.  I also have a mixture of different type couplers, they all look like knuckle couplers but some are small and some are big and some a thin and some are thick, I think I will order one brand and replace them all, so what brand would be the best one for me to change the couplers on 40 rolling stock cars?

HO / wheel size and couplers types
August 23, 2012, 04:15:57 PM
What size are the wheels on the new rolling stock that comes in the Bachmann sets? I also have about 40 rolling cars and it seems they all have different couplers, some a thin some are thick some are small some are big, but most are knuckle type couplers so I think I am going to convert them all to one type of coupler, does anybody have an idea on what type would work best and where can I get them?   thanks for you other post. General Discussion / Bachmann Santa Fe GP-40 DCC
August 15, 2012, 05:04:31 PM
I have a new Santa Fe #3507 GP40-DCC equipped.  Well anyway I bought it new but I do not have any instructions with it.  When I run this engine it starts out really  smooth and then after a couple of minutes it gets really noisy.  It might need lubrication however I do not know where to lube it at, so are there any on line instructions or any thing on this engine?  I have three engines similar to it so please help.  thanks Jack

HO / bachmann 44557 and 44558
August 02, 2012, 10:18:12 PM
I have two of each of the 44557 and 44558,  when I attatch either a straight, curve, or supplied 3" track to either side of the turnoff,  I am unable to attach any piece of track to the remaining side.  What is my problem?  Please advise me on this. thanks Jackbreadman1
