Large / Getting Spare Parts
March 02, 2008, 06:35:09 PM
I have several Bachmann locos and I want to do some changes to them. Do you provide the different parts that are shipped with different models of the same locomotive, separately? I need a straight stack for 2 of my 2-Truck Shays, Oil Bunker shells for both of them too (they are currently coal loads), and the Snowplow and hardware for it for the K-27. I'm sure there are others who would like to get these items to convert their locos as well.

Large / Putting the boiler back on the K-27
March 01, 2008, 12:22:09 PM
It may be that I am just all thumbs when it comes to this stuff, but ...

I removed the boiler (fairly easy) to paint my K-27. I painted it. Then I tried to put it back together! What a nightmare. Like I say, it might just be me, but I could not get the Smokebox to clip over the tab on the frame (Smokebox Support). No matter what I tried it would not go, and i tried everythig. I finally resorted to grinding the lip off the Smokebox Support so the boiler shell just goes on straight down onto the frame. Then it worked fine. I have had trouble before getting Bachmann locos apart because the exploded drawings (which are great for parts identification) don't tell you how to take them apart. At least the K-27 instructions told me how to remove the boiler shell. All-in-all, the K-27 is a really nice loco, but I sure sweated over that boiler shell reassembly! ???

Large / Battery Power
December 22, 2007, 07:35:13 PM
I sent the following message to the Bachmann Customer Service, but I have heard nothing. Zero. Zip, Zilch!

I have 2 of your 2-truck Shay locomotives, 1 Consolidation, 1 3-truck Shay and am awaiting delivery of a K-27. My question is: Can I run these locomotives on battery power using your remote control system? I don't want to have to tear the locomotives apart to change wiring and such any more than I have to.

Can I have a reply now?
