I don't know , I use JMRI to access the decoder.
It's to complicated for me to use the TCS voice system with my Lenz controller.

My controller has only shift #4 instead of #8 , so you can imagine what I have to do to get that woman talking.
but that aside , your ten wheelers chuff rate is to fast.
One steam cycle per rotation is enough.

looks like it but if there is no speaker connected to the motherboard in the tender, you will have to install one yourself and connect it (solder) to the MB.

Cool. So,this should be compatible with most sound decoders out there.
Any recommendations as to which sound system to put in it?
Thanks, Ton!

The ones I have with sound , four, are OEM so i can't recommend something else.
Tsunami should do fine.

The 2-6-6-2 has a 21 pin motherboard in stead of a 8 pin connector.
Don't ask me why they just do.
The decoder you are showing is a standard Bachmann decoder without sound and back emf.
The original sound decoder has a 21 pin connector.

Just take the roof off.
It's a snap on construction.

The two-pin plug is the power pickup from the driving wheels.

Apologies for reviving an old thread but the connector wires on the 2-4-4-2 tender I have are all black.

Did you work out the correct polarities for the 2 pin plug ?

Thanks

Doesn't matter, if you measure the voltage on the track you will discover that the multimeter thinks it's AC.

Hi Fred, I use 0.5mm styrene sheet to make the "cardmodels" to make the rolling stock.
The Cameo 3 does not completely cut through the sheet but i don't mind.
keeps the parts together anyway.
You can brake-out the parts or cut them out with a knife.
Most of the bodies are made of at least two layers of styrene to give the model strength and depth.

Dan , i haven't thought about that but knowing from experience  how Bachmann constructs their models i would say no they are not.

Don't forget you are still running on H0 scale track with a 0 scale locomotive.
The spacing between the sleepers is to small for the 0 scale.
I use PECO flex, you could also use more appropriate US track / sleeper configuration like Micro engineering.

That looks impressive.
Some notes of attention; You speech is nearly drowned by the sound of the trains and your locomotives run much to fast.
The C16 is , what I have seen on small movie clips, at top speed.

Interesting fact- Kadee #5 head couplers WILL mate with Kadee S/On3 couplers (803 etc)

Yes , I have a rake of AMS cars (803) and go with Bachmann 2-8-0's (EZ mate couplers)
It's a bit of a forced marriage , you need some force.
