Title: Sound value engines sensitivity
Post by: kh25 on July 31, 2017, 11:54:37 PM
I have 2 sound value engines that i run on DC they run and sound great but after about a week they stall after I clean the track they are back to running great again. Are they more sensitive to dirty track then dc engines?
Thank you

Sound Value locomotives have DCC decoders with an analog compatibility mode.  All DCC decoders are more sensitive to dirty track than analog locomotives.

If you're using track with steel rails you might want to consider switching to nickle-silver ones.  NS rails still oxidize, but unlike rust it's still conductive and easier to remove.

Another thing you can do to extend your maintenance schedule is use only metal wheels, plastic ones will leave a residue.
