The "sticky" topics, are they the same as the ones used on Atlas forums?

sure..they are the same as on any forum.
"sticky" just means the thread will "stick" to the top, and not fade lower on the list like "non-sticky" threads will..

This forum is now the same general format as 90% of all internet forums..
welcome to the 21st century...at last.

ok! since we have a new forum, here are a few of my Bachmann projects of late:

Here is a modified Large Scale Big Hauler:

A Large Scale "Mining Mogul" converted into a 29n2 scale Forney:

Two Bachmann On30 coaches converted into One On2 Coach:

And my most ambitious project, which has been in progress for several years and is not even close to being finished!  :D
Taking two Large Scale Big Haulers, and converting them into One 2-4-4-2 mallet..(originally they were going to be a 2-6-6-2, but that changed recently)
Here are the two locos in their original state:

and here are what they look like right now!  ;D

im getting there...

Scot

(more details on all these projects are on my webpage..link to my webpage is the little icon under my LV-diamond avatar.

Edit - the 250 pixel forum resize for photos is gone as of Sunday afternoon, Feb 4.
I edited my above pics to remove the limit and show them full-size.

wow...TINY pictures...I guess I can view them on my phone... :o

All I had to do to make them bigger, (I use netscape), is to Rt click on the image and a menu box comes up and then Lt click on view image.

Its just a problem with the default configuration of the forum..looks like it was "factory set" to resize photos to 250 pixels wide, which is much smaller than necessary..

I posted some thoughts about it on the "welcome" forum..
you can read more details about the topic here if you like:

http://www.bachmanntrains.com/home-usa/board/index.php/topic,3.15.html

Hopefully the Bach-man or the board webmaster can re-set that default to 640 pixels wide..250 is just too small, and 640 pixels wide fits in messages nicely, and are big enough to show detail, but not TOO big.
640 is basically the "internet forum standard" for discussion forums everywhere.  some are even larger. somewhere between 640 to 800 pixels is reasonable.

It would certainly be good advertisement for Bachmann to allow any discussion, including, but not limited to, other manufacturers' items in this forum (especially if Bachmann does not make it!!). It's kind of like that Christmas show that I can't remember the name of!! You know, with KRIS KRINGLE, and his cane that was found in that "dream house"??

"Miracle on 34th Street"
Kris Kringle is the Santa for Macys.
a mother is looking for a toy that Macys is sold-out of, so he tells her Gimbles has it!

at first Mr. Macy and his staff are outraged that their Santa suggested that a customer go to their arch-rival! (to give the customer what she wanted, rather than suggest something she doesnt want, but that Macys *does* have in stock..)  but then they turn it around and realize it could be a great P.R. ploy.."we will known as the friendly Macys, the helpfull Macys"..

:)

In the help section - What is "sticky" topic?

a "sticky" topic is one that will always remain at the top of the list, regardless of when the last post was made..

for example, a topic such as "please read the forum rules before posting" could be made (by the moderator) into a "sticky" and it would always "stick" to the top of the list where people can see it...rather than gradually falling to the bottom of the list if no new posts are made, like a regular "non sticky" thread would..
