On30 / Re: disassembly of the 2-6-0

Very bad idea to recommend someone, vigarious force unless you know exactly what it takes to do the deed....

I've had a few engines myself that did take a bit of extra effort but it usually is a locking tab or a hidden screw that makes dis-assembly difficult.
Always pry or force with care, REALLY, or zingo, you've got trouble.

Seeing how we are using HO or On30 track, why not use HO engines once in awhile for the missing ones not yet made in On30 ?  I tried it  and  what the hey ! NOT to unreasonable. Must of them are quit cheeeep too. A friend brought over his old Cab-forward he bought at a train swap meet/show for $30 used and it run fine around the layout. Sure, it was out of scale but we still had phun.... We can never ever have everything just as exact as the real thing !! Haven't yet seen a layout that fooled me thinking it was the real thing.  Oh ya ! I now have a used cheap HO Heisler that works until Bachmann does produce that On30 beast.
Your version might be different,    cheers,

I do not ever bid on any engine this is not brand new never run as in this case they had to run the engine and knew there was a problem.  Just can't trust people to always disclose the true.
Now if you got this engine at a big discount, that might be worth it IF you are capable of fixing it..  Me ? Don't have the Patience or time.
Your version might be different ?

:)  Lookee at the cute little engines in latest May/June Narrow Gauge Gazette.  Darjeeling Himalayan Railway and what a layout that would be if one was creative enough to built it in miniature, say On30  :) Now I could make room for a couple of those nifty engines ...

I think there is more interest in a Heisler before any other engine. Still, only Bachmann will make what they believe will sell as they are in the business of making $$$..  I'm pretty sure if someone wants to invest the money to make any specific engine, they will listen. I for one, don't have the bucks to take that on...

Hoping everyone will get what they want, but truely, it ain't going to happen very soon....

I'm very happy with what I have now and that will have to do.  :)

Not to stir things up but there is another brand of track that works just fine plus it's a lot cheeper...

Model Power Nickel Silver code 100 flex 3 footers. I paid $140 for a box of 100 pieces delivered..
Look at an ad from one of the big discounters in Model Railroader magazine.
I use DCC and no problems, neither have I ever cleaned the track other than wiping off the dust once in a while.

Your mileage may differ,

On30 / Re: Anything new B-Mann?

I have come to the contusions (head hurts) that we will only get what Bachmann decides to make and for me that is soon enough I guess but I would like to have a Heisler before my time here in this world comes to an end.

Cheers all around,  TOF

Nice to hear that there will be something to use in my projects instead of another freight car or an engine.

Now how about a nice sawmill and assesories to go along with the logging engines and log cars as after all,  they have to be sent somewhere other than round/round the layout ???

Cheers from the far northwet part of this big country,

While the B-G engine looks rather nifty, I would have no place for it on my logging layout.  Now I could use a 2-6-6-2 logging engine or something of that nature.
I know that it takes quite a bit a desire for any manufacture to try something new and hope to make a fair return on their investment.

At least there is hope for a new steam engine as dismals are not even in the picture !

Wally

I put a N gauge Digitrax in my Climax and it just plugged into the 8 pin socket after I removed the jumpers.  It works as it should, no problems..

Very easy to do..
