Title: Disabling DCC
Post by: dustyburner on January 05, 2010, 05:43:40 AM
Just got my first DCC engine the other day.  It runs well, but I was curious if there is a way to disconnect the board and run the engine as straight DC since I haven't upgraded my controller yet.  I'm just looking to protect the electronics until that time.

Thanks.

What locomotive do you have, if it came in a blue and white box that says "DCC-equipped" and it was a diesel then it would be more trouble than its worth, but if its a steam engine or Bachmann Spectrum loco then just take out the decoder and put in the 2 jumpers for DC operation.

Yeah, it's a Spectrum SD45.  I was wondering what Bachmann meant by "dummy" operation using those jumpers.  Thanks.
