Title: How do I remove Climax Cab
Post by: edlek on August 21, 2008, 09:57:12 PM
I want to remove the Steel Climax cab so I can do some interior detailing.

I saw the 2 screws on bottom and have removed them. Then there are various pipes going through front of cab.  I can easily remove some of the pipes from front of cab but others are not that easy. The ones that I couldn't remove appear to be preventing cab from lifting up. Is there any trick to this?

Thanks,
Ed

If the rods you are having problems with are the handrails - then there is a knack to removing them.
You'll prabably find they are dab glued at the Smaoke box stanchion.
A pair of needle nose plier applied by the stanchion and  given a GENTLE twisting motion should break the bond and then you can wriggle them forwards enough to clear the cab.
Please note the word GENTLE - too much force and you'll break the stanchion where it is glued into the loco.
