Title: PRojets as of lately.
Post by: BaltoOhioRRfan on September 08, 2013, 11:07:06 AM
Lately I been undertaking a large project in renumbering all my custom B&O engines into more prototypically correct numbers. Also adding the Loco class on the cabs as well as other details usually not applied by factory makers(tho Bachmann is one of the rare ones that put the class on the cab!)

I also B&Onized my Bachmann Berk somewhat. As you will see in this first pic i remounted the headlight higher, i moved the bell as well but I would like to get a different one as now it looks to high.

B&O 2-8-4 Class R1 Berkshire 7852 B&O Planned a few berks using retired mikados and were to be classed R1. didn't make it off the drawing bored as diesels took over. The two I got(one Bachmann one LLP2k) will be used on Milk trains and Pershiable trains.

B&O Snow Plow, Tool Car, and Camp Cars . The Plow is made from an Con-Cor old time combine, IHC snow Plow and Athearn Caboose cupola. The baggage car is a Concor old timer. and the two camp cars are both converted cabooses, one is athearn, one is walthers.

Why not mount the bell off center on the smokebox front like the 2-10-2s

Go on Bowser's website, and look up Cal-scale parts.  They have a good assortment of bells.

B&O 2-6-6-6. Its a freelanced engine that I orginially did back before Bachmann did the EM1, I just redid the decal work job on her as part of my major project is to spruce up all my custom painted engines.

I'll try to get some more this coming weekend as i expect work to not get home from work until late every night. But to help get visuals until then. I applied road number and tender specs on the back of the tender close to B&O specs(B&O put the number on the frame, but since most details are molded on the frame of the tender i put it on the bottom of the tender tank). I also put the class on the cab as with the rest of my custom painted engines.

B&O S1 6250 2-10-2 "Big Six" with a fresh new paint and decal job, coupled to her is a B&O Caboose also custom decaled by me. And on the track next to the big engine is a second Big Six, 6267. I was very impressed with the way the paint job came out as it overpassed my expectations. It uses a Rivarossi shell, IHC chassis, Spectrum tender(swapped out the bored for the IHC one)
