I know the catalog lists the Trainmasters as 0-31 curve engines however will they take 0-27 curves?
Thanks!
It is very long. It is already pushing it at O-31. Doubt O-27.
Thanks Dominic. Just thought I would ask and of course welcome more input...
Dear MB425,
For locomotives, the catalog states minimum curve size. While some are based on clearances with switch track motor housings, most are the minimum that a loco will handle without derailing. As Dominic stated, the FM is long (17") and will require O-31 and you need to make sure the curves are not kinked at all or you may have derailments.
For diesel locomotives a good rule of thumb 15" or less will navigate O-27 curves.

Thanks 3rail. I appreciate the reply and help!
And the EF-4 is REALLY pushing it at o-31!
MB425---
Recently bought a Williams PF-45 loco (17" long). The are no problems w/ the loco handling my 027 90 degree curves. There is some over hang---but, in my opinion, no big deal. However, I don't think I would try running it thru my Lionel 027 switches. Good luck

Thanks GTBob!
