There is one in the Walther's catalog.  Walther's doesn't sell a Quonset hut by itself.  One comes in an oil distribution kit, but somebody else sells individual huts.

I've seen the Quonset huts (or something like them) in the 2008 Walther's Catalog, they're German made...but they sell German and US "huts."

As much as I like my scale California Zephyr, I can only run it at large clubs to make it look right.

Not entirelly true. It just depends on how you create your layout and the illusion you make with it.

You could just need another power connection track on the far end.

I'm not sure what everyone's talking about between DCC and DCS. The new Triplex will work perfectlly fine with DCC. I've got M.T.H.'s K4 and it works perfectlly. One of the most impressive models I've ever seen. The only thing about the DCC functions is that DCS has 24 features, DCC only has access to 12...the 12 DCC doesn't have, you really shouldn't worry about, cause they're not on any other DCC loco.

The only problem I have EVER had with M.T.H.'s K4 is that it takes a bunch of power to program the decoder from 3 to the cab #...that's it. There's a knob in the tender for sound, there's also a button on your DCC controller to toggle the sound. The controlls that are different are 6 is mute and 8 is smoke.

So, yeah. M.T.H.'s locos work perfectlly and I fully intend to get some of those Triplexes!

HO / Re: Can someone explain track radius to me?
January 13, 2008, 11:06:56 AM
What I did to get my radius, I took a yard stick, drilled a hole on the 1 inch mark. Make the hole big enough to put a nail in. This will be your axis. Now, take your radius (say, 22") and add an inch to it. Now, it's 23". So, drill another hole at the 23" mark. Because you drilled a hole at the one, it became the 0 point. which means the 23" is still a 22". So, now you've got a hole at the 1 and the 23, your nail is in the 1, so put a pencil in the 23. Hold the nail and drag the pencil forward in the yard stick to get an arc. There's you're radius guide line.

Sounds complex, but it's a lot easier than it sounds...if you want to explain it better, tell me.

One of the is "Police Got My Car," a parody of Feliz Navidad. Or "The Restroom Door Said Gentlemen," a parody of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.

Tons of people refer to locomotives, steam and diesel, as "she"..
its a tradition going back hundreds of years. IMO, a locomotive should ALWAYS be referred to as "she"!
"it" is far too impersonal, and lacks the proper respect.

Slip of the tongue refering to a locomotive as "he" will not lead to a slap across the face, right? Like a human would do?* :D

*No sexist comment intended.
